My better half and I went to see Hot Fuzz the other day and I can honestly say I have not seen anything so funny since this episode of South Park .
Funny from start to finish and no let off. Just laugh after laugh after laugh. We seriously considered buying a ticket to go back and see it again. When it comes out on DVD, I will make an effort to go and buy it to support the effort that was put into it.
If you get a chance to go and see it – please do. It really is worth it 😀
And I hope you feel as bad as I did for laughing out loud when Nick takes out the shotgun wielding granny. You’ll know what I mean when you see it … priceless!

I actually managed to see it some weeks ago in a sneak preview session – and you’re right, it was definitely the best sneak preview ever! Usually, you get to see movies such as “Human Nature” (see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219822/). Ever heard of it? No? My point exactly!
During the movie I got the distinct impression that the (principally dutch) audience did not appreciate all the play on words, as I found myself the only one laughing at times, which only heightened my amusement. Think of the scene with the line “that’s not the way the cookie crumbles”, brilliantly acted out by Timothy Dalton. Although I suppose none of us will appreciate it the same way as native speakers do, it is well worth watching indeed!
